Meet The Team
Casey Rutherford - Founder
Hi, my name is Casey, and I am the founder of LivableHomeDesign.com.
With a combined 10 years of experience (with Alejandro) building and living in these homes, we can help you make a change in your life for the better.
We are passionate about building and helping others make the change to tiny, portable homes. They are affordable, diverse, stylish, flexible, and more sustainable than traditional homes.
Whether you want to live off the grid, or you want to install a tiny home as an AirBnb on your land, we have the ideas, inspiration and solutions for you.
I first became interested in the Tiny Home movement in high school. After learning about all of the environmental damage and unsustainable nature of traditional homes, I knew I wanted to make a change.
With a tiny house, I am able to downsize my living space, simplify my life, and live with less. I am also an advocate for sustainable living, and being able to survive on the simple things in life.
My tiny home is situated amongst beautiful greenery, with exceptional views for a fraction of the cost of a house. I can head home after work, relax amongst nature, and switch off from the world.
Since living in this manner, I have seen a huge change in my mental health. I no longer feel stressed, overwhelmed, and I am confident that should anything happen in the future, such as a natural disaster, I would be able to survive due to all of the skills I have obtained living this way - as I’m already accustomed to living off the basics.
I started this website because I wanted to change other people’s lives, in the same way that I have changed mine.
Alejandro Pennazza - Writer
Hey! My name is Alejandro and I am a writer here at LivableHomeDesign.com.
I currently live in a mobile home, and have done so for 6 years!
I always enjoyed camping as a child, and continue to do so in my spare time. When I was younger, we would always head out in my parents’ RV, all of us kids together. It was a great way to see the country, and spend quality time with my family.
I was lucky enough to have resourceful parents, who would teach us how to fish, gather wood, start fires, and learn all about surviving off the land and in the outdoors.
I knew that when I was older, I wanted to live off the grid as an adult. I don’t like being confined to one place for too long and I love to explore and see new places whenever I can.
When I met Casey, we shared a passion for tiny homes, mobile homes, and the versatility that they can provide. When she told me about her idea for this site - I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
I have so much to share to help you learn how to live in a mobile or tiny home, and how to keep it in the best running order possible. If you’re ready to learn, I’m happy to share my knowledge with you!
